To lose weight successfully and keep it away from increasing, changing our eating behavior is very essential.

Most of the people resist to such changes in lifestyle and it becomes rather difficult to switch to new eating habits. For people who have failed in dieting can be a proof of this.

The tips in this article help those people who have earlier tried their hands at changing their eating habits but failed to do so. Also for those who plan to start a weight loss program which will need you to changing you eating lifestyle.

First things first

The reason why most of the people fail to stick to any diet is because they put the wrong put forward.
Here are two ways, which will help to change you eating habits and lose weight:

1. Change what you eat

2. Change how much you eat

For a long term, if you want to maximize the weight loss, you need to change both of the above mentioned. Don’t change both at once, but gradually.

And this is where people go wrong. They change both at once and even if they change one, they chose the wrong one first. When given an option, people chose option 1 but typically it is option 2 that should be taken to get best results.

The obvious question here is why? And the reason is very practical and simple.

For most of us it is easier to go from 3 pieces of fried chicken to 2 pieces while eating as compared to going from 3 pieces of chicken to a salad and soup.

Agreed that eating salad will ensure in losing more weight that eating 1 piece of fried chicken, but for a permanent and long term weight loss going down to 2 pieces of chicken is much better than having salad for a week and then shifting back to 3 pieces of chicken for the rest of your life.

We are trying to make a permanent shift to a healthy lifestyle and most of us will not stick if they are too radical in comparison.

Thus starting with changing how much you eat and then shifting to what you eat is the actual process that will help to lose weight in a long term process.
